Chrome Experiments
Here comes a project from Google to demonstrate the possibilities of JavaScript in Chrome web browser. If you are not using Chrome already and don’t feel like installing it, you may run those examples on other web browsers as well. However, due to Google’s superior JavaScript engine, it would be wise to run them on Chrome.

New Skyfire Beta Released
Skyfire team has released a new beta version of its mobile web browser for BlackBerry devices (private testers only). The following release introduces faster zooming, “Switch to Skyfire” function in original BlackBerry browser which should help users click on links in email, etc., new keyboard shortcuts and more.

Microsoft Releases Silverlight 3 and it Looks Pretty
Introducing more than 50 new features, Microsoft Silverlight 3 Final has been released. With lots of improvements in many areas, H.264 video support, MP4, ACC, 3D and GPU hardware acceleration support and many more, Adobe should be really worried.
In the recent benchmark between Silverlight 3 and Flash, Ryan Rea said: “Silverlight not only had lower CPU usage, but it also used the four cores more uniformly.”
To answer Opera users question: no, Opera is still listed under “not supported” browsers.

Opera Mini Strikes US Carrier Deals
Jon von Tetzchner (Opera Software CEO) has confirmed that Opera Mini would soon be widespread in the US through a deal with Motricity, a mobile content delivery platform in partnership with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
According to the StatCounter, last month Opera Mini had 2.4% US mobile market share. These numbers are much higher outside the US. Jon von Tetzchner added: “I do believe things are about to change in the U.S.”.
Opera Refreshes “About” Page Looks, Adds New Icon
The upcoming Opera 10 Final release will feature a refreshed opera:about page which will replace gray and dull looking one.

Google For Your PC (Video)

Safari 4.0.2 Released
Apple has released the second update for Safari’s 4.0.x branch web browser which fixes 2 security vulnerabilities.
Update is available for Mac (Leopard, Tiger) and Windows operating systems.
Chromium Receives Native Skins Support
Ars Technica reports that Chromium web browser for Linux OS has received native themes support. Users will have an option to enable (or disable) the following feature in preferences dialog. It should be also noted that screenshots were taken using latest nightly build and this is not a final version yet.
