You have to remember that each Firefox release fixes an average of 1200
bugs. Many of those bugs are part of the memshrink project and other
similar projects and they provide more of a performance boost than the
handful of bugs that are listed as major features. Just because these other bugs are
not massively publicised, and don’t result in a clearly visiible, user facing feature people don’t think anything has changed
    release to release.

Major MemShrink bugs are set to land in Firefox 10 and 11 and basically won’t be noticed other than, “It seems faster.”

But the fact is, that getting faster and more responsive from release to release is what matters most to end users and so if Firefox is consistently getting better from release to release, then that can’t be a bad thing.

I’ve been on the beat channel since early September and Firefox 9 is a noticeable improvement over Firefox 8 and a big improvement over Firefox 7.

I am however using 2 very small add-ons and that’s it. If I was one of these people using 20 different add-ons my feedback may not be so good.

Don’t know about bugs, but many my friends jumped Chrome because FF became MORE crashy, unstable ir slow with various popular websites. So maybe Mozilla should focused FIRST to fix those MAJOR Memshrink bugs and only later tinker UI and etc.? Because now Mozilla knows those bugs but don’t do nothng at all till v10 or v11? Thants irresponsible and is not oriented to users satisfaction at all. Especially when those bugs existed from v4

A lot of programmers working on Firefox , should the guys who are good at the UI design stop working ?

So some HTML5 stuff, some WebGL stuff, some Web Apps stuff, and some stuff about UI. When I looked through FF v9, v10, v11, v12 new features, it is only about those areas. So FF priority from now on is HTML5, WebGL, Web App or remove all UI elements?

Look through the release notes of Firefox 8. Not the “features”, but the entire buglist.

That will tell you what is being worked on – http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/8.0/releasenotes/buglist.html

The “features” list is like the pop charts. The good stuff never makes it there because it doesn’t sell. There’s much better stuff going on behind the scenes.
