Firefox Add-Ons Gone Or No Longer Work After Update?
If for one reason or another your Firefox extensions have disappeared or won’t work upon Firefox upgrade, then it’s possible that they were disabled during the installation process.
However, the hope is not lost yet as Mozilla’s “Add-on Compatibility Reporter” extension will most likely fix your problem.
After installation, incompatible extensions will be re-enabled so you could test them. As simple as that.

Either this or “about:config – extensions.checkCompatibility.9.0 – false”. It brings a bunch of extensions back to life.
what business do you have with firefox 9??
Firefox 9
Currently in BETA channel
Moves to RELEASED on December 20, 2011
Excuse me?
I’m currently on Firefox11a1pre. Anything wrong with that?
yes, you will have issues, but thats your problem
Issues? Seems stable to me and the Nightly Tester add-on works fine.
Shane Bundy, is there anything new regarding the interface in this build?
If you mean the beta channel (which FF9 is on) the changelog notes nothing related to UI changes.
The best branch to try UI changes is “latest-UX” on Mozilla’s FTP server.
What about the one you mentioned, 11a1pre? I tried these UX builds several times, but didn’t notice ANY new UI feature.
But but.. every FF fanboy says to me that new FF versions don’t break extensions so extensions usage is user-friendly and not problematic for average users…
i use only firefox, im not a fanboy and i can tell you that sometimes, when you update an extension might stop working, until the extension is updated.. or whatever happens
Although I represent Mozilla on campus, I can tell you those fanboys have false facts. Extensions will break in some way when updating them or Firefox.
While I don’t use Firefox, this is so popular and known method. No need to share it.
On Nightly there’s an add-on made especially for that. FavBrowser didn’t need to share it.
