December, 2014 Desktop Market Share: Netscape Replaces Opera

By | January 16, 2015

Now here is something weird to kick start your day.

It looks like Net Applications have stopped reporting Opera in its “Desktop Top Browser Share Trend” and have replaced it with Netscape, which for some weird reason have also managed to increase its market share by 0.05 point in December.

The good news? Opera’s data is still visible in the regular chart, which stood at the 0.94% mark, up from 0.88% (0.06 point increase).

As far as other browsers, it’s business as usual. Internet Explorer has increased its hare by 0.11 point, up from 58.94% to 59.11%.

Google Chrome experienced even stronger growth, up from 20.57% to 22.65% (2.08 points increase).

Firefox on the other hand is nearing the 10% mark, down again from 13.26% to 11.91% (1.35 point decrease).

Lastly, Safari, which now sits below the 5% mark, down from 5.90% to 4.99% (0.91 point decrease).

That’s all for now, folks.
