Everyone Loves IE – Sitemeter Kills Thousands of Sites for IE Users
The behavior began few days ago whene Sitemeter updated their scripts. Unfortunately, they forgot about a bug of the Internet Explorer (really old one) that has been causing a “Operation aborted” error.
If your web page had a Sitemeter counter, Internet Explorer users eventually see an “Operation aborted” error message. Once they click OK, the whole page disappears and is replaced by a blank page.
Whose fault is this? Both of course. However, this is not a new and/or unknown bug; they just didn’t test it on Internet Explorer = bad idead.

Ahah, I remember seeing this bug a few weeks back when I was benchmarking IE7. I just reloaded the page and it went ok.
But it’s a good thing. Maybe people will start acting towards IE as they act towards firefox when they go “Fierfox as no favorites!!!1” or towards opera when they go “it doesn’t work on my siets!!!11\1” :P
Arr arr arr…
Oh, wait, I was wrong, it was a different bug, since the update was only released now :P Sorry, my mistake.
Oh, and it’s totally ie’s fault. Having bugs decades old? No, they are the faulty ones.
