Want IE9? Install Windows 7 Service Pack 1
If no Windows XP support for was not enough, then here is another bit: according to Microsoft’s technet site, Internet Explorer 9 will require Windows 7 users to install SP1 before even using a web browser.
That explains why IE9 setup insisted on downloading 4 OS hotfixes and requiring a reboot, as a result.
Also, since Windows 7 SP1 is due in the first half of 2011, don’t expect Internet Explorer 9 Final anytime sooner.

But I bet it come faster than FF, not to mention those 4 (at-least) more RC builds for FF 4 lol.
Good Info. Thanks.
I like new IE icon, that’s about it :)
They finally made decent browser, so they have to screw up everything around it.
+1
browser itself is dcent, very fast, with a UI that one can get to like, but the install process was a complete disaster
I really dislike all this IE9 buzz. Especially when M$ can’t make an application for current Windows versions while other browser vendors support 3 or more platforms.
Why would anyone want Internet Explorer…? It’s slow buggy and for of holes and it’s obsolete, even the latest version. I haven’t tested IE 9 yet.
Try IE 9 and tell us.
No We Won’t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is a new statement of the MSDN team: these patches are only needed. The SP1 for WIN7 is not neccesarily needed! Vygantas why don’t you release an update of this statement?
