This is it! The latest version of the Internet Explorer has been released and can be downloaded here.
Just like IE8, it comes in both, 32 and 64 bit flavors and is available for Windows users only.
What’s New
Internet Explorer 9 brings a lot of new features and improvements, including everyone’s praised hardware acceleration.
Just like you would expect from any major release, user interface has been tweaked as well, bringing new tab page, redesigned address bar and tab locations.
Furthermore, it finally features a proper download manager, enhanced web standards support and more.

Great improvement over IE8, but I am still not digging its installation process.
It’s pretty cool, but it probably won’t be updated for next 2 years. Besides, it doesn’t make much difference for web devs since there is no Windows XP version.
BTW Opera advertisement on screenshot made me lol, did you choose red pill (http://my.opera.com/chooseopera/blog/2011/03/14/choose-the-red-pill)? :P
I prefer to combine few different pills for the best effect ;-)
I think I will give it a shot when the rush has died down. I don’t think I can give Microsoft the satisfaction of being part of their “So-and-so many people downloaded Internet Explorer 9 in the first 24 hours!” hype.
On a more off topic note, is that a picture of an Opera advertisement on FavBrowser? I only see ones for Chrome and never another web browser! :P
Yes, it is :-)
I can’t see no differences. But it really feels even more snappier!
And this time, setup didn’t restart my PC. Maybe because I already had RC version : )
Cheers ; )
Finally… now I finally can recommend the IE-users in my social environment to just update. They can keep their favourite browser and I don’t become a maniac every time I see an IE loading a website for ages…
… for the web, however, the difference is small: IE8 will be around for quite a while still and therefore we (web developers like me) will have to still wait with massive HTML5 use…. -.-
There are people who have Internet Explorer as their favorite browser? An acceptable version of Internet Explorer just came out after years to boot so the thought is a tad scary.
I’ve got RC and still had to reboot my Windows :(
Maxthon 3 has more features than Internert Explorer 9 and its faster
IE9 is supposed to be faster than Chrome, though. :O
Is there a way to put tabs on top?
layout seems a bit hit & miss … all I would want is 3 bars, tabs — url/search bar — then favourites … not the mess that appears before me in ie9 with a wasted bar!
Nothing will make me move from Opera, it’s better than all the other browsers full stop…
The only losers are those that have yet to discover Opera.
Yeah! Opera is the best, and then Chrome and finally Firefox. Others doesn’t exist.
It’s nice to have IE-non-suck installed just in case, but this is indeed true. Opera is the fastest, safest, and most feature rich.
It sucks that some peeps think their thing is best. If their is good then others have better.
Anybody know how disable cleartype? May be need someone CSS style?
At last Microsoft had put a lot of effort in making a Competitive Web Browser…!!! Kudos..!!
text is blurry & scrolling is jerky & it seems slower loading sites than Opera or Chrome.
You’d think after all the time they spent making it that they would have come up with something better than this.
