Adobe Promotes Google Chrome

Adobe Promotes Google Chrome

Now here is something interesting I noticed today.

When downloading the latest stable version of the Adobe Flash Player, a checkbox appeared, offering me to install Google Chrome as well.

However, if you hit F5 several times, it will suggest you a different kind of software, making us wonder, how much such promotion cost for the Google (if any?).

Android is promoting Flash so this Adove advertisment should be for free

  2. IE & Opera FanBoy says:

When Chrome is Optional it shouldn’t be selected by default. I generally hate these kind of bundled software.

Anybody know standalone installation link ?

    • Rafael says:

It’s a fuck, you can’t get it, I used to manually edit the URL when using Opera to remove the additional software but now they correctly identify the browser and give me the fucking Adobe Installer…

Well, there’s FileHippo.com for Flash, it includes all languages, Reader is English only. Or maybe other download site.

  4. Rafael says:

Very old news. I’ve seem Chrome there since a long time ago, and before it was Google Toolbar.
This is it. Open browser, closed standards via partnerships (PDF and Flash integrated).

    Same with CCleaner

at least its not promoting the use of lameass browsers like Opera, Safari, Maxthon and IE

Firefox and Chrome are the best there is and its always cool if you see at least one of them being promoted, as there are still IE6 users, this may convince them to try something new, fast and secure, releasing at least a bit of the burden on web devs who still cave to put some extra code for IE6 users to still be able to see their pages.. i dont know why they dont just code this upon detection of IE6 “you are using an old browser that isnt compatible with modern web stardards, please update to one of the following: and gives the popular browsers – Firefox and Chrome”

    • Armin says:

Strange how you manage to hold Firefox and Chrome in such high regards yet claim Opera to be a lameass browser. Truly peculiar. Maxthon isn’t that bad either.

      • Anonymous says:

simply coz there are still many pages Opera cant render correctly… after all this time
as for Maxthon – if it wasnt using WebKit, it wouldnt even be worth mentioning

and besides what i just said, there are many other drawbacks like lack of important addons for Opera
and complete lack of addons for Maxthon

see, its a matter of taste, for my taste only Chr and Fx work, while the others are lameass, im not trying to convince the world to think the way i do

No, because otherwise you’d be trying to convince everyone that being gay is the best there is because your gay and nerd and a no life NEET.

Come come, don’t cry. I’m sure your porn stash will have something to cheer you up. Your gay porn stash.

why are you so mad, internet geek? no one broke your bones in a while? instead of copying and pasting the same thing in every single one of your responses to me, why dont you think of something new and original? i know hiding behind the monitor makes it easy to call people names, but the hard part is to tell it in the person’s face.. in case you dont know, calling me names on the internet, doesnt intimidate me… irritate .. make me angry.. or whatever you expect me to do.. so why dont you come and say it in my face? and if you come back home in one piece … that will be a miracle ..

damn internet nerds with issues .. they never learn

  7. Mikah says:

IE 8 & IE 9 are not popular browsers I did not know this thanks for the heads up.
Afaik most IE 6 usage is work related hard to imagine anyone using it from personnel preference,

Why do you call Opera a lameass browser ?

It’s not new behavior. Adobe does this long time now… Surely, you can download the single Flash Installer ( to find it you’ve to dig deep into their crap site ) but this sort of trap, gets the vast majority of average users.

All my nephews have installed Chrome onto their machines without even knowing when and how.  And that’s how Google claims its big market share. Disgusting.

  9. Bloodnurse says:

My Firefox updater said I had a new Flash update.. Sent me to adobe’s download for flash. The download manager indicated about Google Chrome whasoever, Nor did the .exe file I saved in downloads. the download manager just installed (as default browser).

Does Adobe believe this makes anyone them?

If it weren’t necessary to run some applications I need I wouldn’t use anything with their name on it.
