April, 2014 Desktop Market Share: Google Chrome – Up; Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera – Down

And now the desktop numbers…

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer market share has since reached its peak and is down by 0.08 point, from 57.96% to 57.88%.

Google Chrome on the other hand is the only browser this month that has increased its share, up from 17.52% to 17.92% (0.4 point increase).

As far as Firefox goes, Mozilla’s browser is still in a downtrend, from 17.26% to 17% (0.26 pointe decrease).

Apple’s Safari has been consolidating for some time now and this month is not an exception, down by 0.02 point, from 5.68% to 5.66%.

Lastly, Opera, which might soon reach a 1% mark, down from 1.20% to 1.14% (0.06 point decrease).

    Firefox is dead to me since FF29. It completely changed fundamental UI components and customizations that users have been using for decades in browsers. It literally re-arranged navigation buttons around — with zero choice to change them.
