IE9 RC: 2 Million Downloads
Even though the release candidate build of Internet Explorer 9 has been just recently released, it has already been downloaded more than 2 million times.
Although Windows Update offered IE9 Beta users to download the updated build, Microsoft has pointed out that every single one of those downloads were user-initiated downloads.
Director of Firefox Leaves Mozilla
Mike Beltzner, Mozilla’s Director if Firefox will be leaving company right after Firefox 4 Final release.
For around six years (sine Firefox 1.5), he has been leading development of the open-source browser and assures everyone that this wasn’t really an easy decision to make.
It’s not a choice I made lightly, I can assure you. I’m incredibly eager to see how Mozilla continues to evolve, shifting its strategy to the new world in which the Web is not just alive and thriving, but evolving and transforming daily
As for the future, Mike is planning to join Dug as product strategist.

Opera 11.10 Coming
According to Opera Desktop Team blog post, the upcoming 11.10 web browser version code name is Barracuda.
Although not much information was given, it was revealed that one of the popular Opera features will be “taken to the next level” and that the very first snapshot is coming in the near future.

HTML5: Framerate Fest
After introducing the hardware acceleration feature for IE9, Microsoft wasn’t really shy to demonstrate its advantages over other web browsers.
Recently, company has launched a Framerate Fest web site, inviting web developers to create their own HTML5 demo (300×300).
There have been only few entries so far (see official site) and submissions are open until the 25th of March.
One lucky winner will receive a brand new Xbox 360 with Kinect and some merchandise.

Opera: 100 000 000 Mobile Users
Updates are coming.
Opera Software has just announced that more than 100 000 000 mobile users now use Opera web browser on their cell phones.
That’s not all! In the official Choose Opera blog post, it was revealed that all Opera Mini and Opera Mobile versions will receive updates later this year.
Yes, even Symbian or Windows Mobile builds.
Can’t wait.

Firefox Ignores Font Family?
If you’ve been using Arial Narrow, Arial Black or similar fonts and they are not recognized in Firefox web browser while styling UL LI listings; here are a few ways to fix it:
– If you are not a web developer:
Tools > Options > Advanced > General Tab
Uncheck “Use hardware acceleration when available”
Restart Firefox
