Opera Refreshes Opera Dragonfly UI
David Storey from Opera Software has just announced the upcoming and much needed visual refresh for Opera’s Dragonfly.
While estimated time of release remains unknown, it’s good to see that company has not forgotten its debugging tools.
Could this bring Opera back into the game? Potentially yes, if it’s much more than just a new UI.

Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta 2 for Symbian Released
Opera Software has just released the second beta of Opera Mobile 10.1 web browser.
This version introduces an ARM optimized version of Opera’s JavaScript engine called Carakan, which is approximately 4 times faster than its predecessor.
On the side note, Sony Ericsson has recently announced its plans to get rid of Symbian platform completely. This leaves Nokia the only company that still manufactures and develops Symbian OS devices.
Mozilla: No Firefox Browser for the iPhone
If you’ve been expecting to see Firefox for the iPhone anytime soon, then hold your horses still.
In the recent post, Mozilla has answered to one of the most frequently asked questions: Firefox for the iPhone?
We are working to bring as much of your Firefox experience as possible to Firefox Home. People have asked about adding more browser-like features to Firefox Home, but there are technical and logistical restrictions that make it difficult, if not impossible, to build the full Firefox browser for the iPhone. We are focused on building Firefox Home as a rich, cloud-based application and making it a valuable product that people will continue to love and use.
From the answer above, it looks like Mozilla is unable to implement the full Firefox browser experience into the iPhone. However, as company continues to explorer various options and alternatives, we might see something what resembles a mobile web browser.

Apparently, over 2 million users were not enough for a company to monetize them. As stated by XMarks co-founder, premium services were also not an option, especially when such features are already available (free of charge) from both, Firefox and Google Chrome developers.

Microsoft: Windows 7 SP1 Is Not Required
Following TechNet FAQ that suggests on installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1 before IE9 itself, company went ahead and updated their web page, claiming that SP1 is not necessary.
I want to follow up to let you know that the TechNet FAQ has been updated to provide further clarification about requirements for Internet Explorer 9. Internet Explorer 9 will work on Windows 7 RTW and Windows 7 SP1. When you install Internet Explorer 9 on a system that has Windows 7 RTM installed, additional operating system components are included as part of the installation of Internet Explorer 9. Those “additional operating system components” will be part of Windows 7 SP1. Either way, this will be a seamless process for the user. Just wanted to make sure you had the latest.
With such statement, there is still a hope to see Internet Explorer 9 Final by the end of this year.
