Firefox 4 Beta 3, Now with Multi Touch
Mozilla has just released the Beta 3 of Firefox web browser that not only fixes a total of 470 bugs, but also enables multi-touch on Windows 7 machines.
Also, by changing JavaScript value representation, they managed to improve JS performance when executing heavy, numeric code.

Google SSL Search is Broken in Safari 5
It looks like there are some issues with Google SSL Search and/or Safari 5 web browser.
As reported by some users, when entering a search query via https link, it will redirect you to a standard Google.com web page.

MSN (Windows Live) Chat in Opera
One of the my.opera.com users has written a tutorial that enables you to chat with your MSN contacts using a built-in Opera IRC client.
1. Go to Tools > Mail and Chat Accounts
2. Pick Chat (IRC)
3. Enter account details (use your Windows Live email)
4. When asked for server name, enter: im.sixxs.net
5. You should now see a tab called “&bitlbee”. Select it and type: register yourpassword

IE9 Platform Preview 4 Beats Safari 5, Acid3 95/100
In what appears to be the final platform preview of Internet Explorer 9, IE Team has highlighted a bunch of improvements that were made during the course of its development.
In the previous versions, JavaScript engine (codename: Chakra) was working as a separate component. Starting from IE9 Platform Preview 4, it is now integrated into IE core itself boosting overall JS performance.

U.K. Government Refuses to Ditch IE6
Back in February, 2010, the online petition was filled urging British government to dump a 9 year old web browser.
Recently, Her Majesty’s Government has issued an official response stating that they will continue using Internet Explorer 6 and have no plans to upgrade it.
What’s the main reason? They want to save taxpayers money.
