Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) Platform Preview 3 Released
It appears that rumors about the upcoming IE9 Platform Preview 3 release were true, as it is now available for developers and early adopters to download it.
Besides various performance improvements, this build introduces HTML5 canvas element (audio, video tags and 2D graphics) that is hardware accelerated, plus WOFF (Web Open Font Format) standard support.

Opera and MegaFon Signs a Mobile Internet Deal
In yesterday’s press release, Opera Software and Russian mobile operator MegaFon, has announced a new partnership, under which MegaFon’s “Unlimited Internet with Opera Mini” package will be made available to all Russian territories (that’s more than 53 million mobile subscribers total).
Back in September 2009, MegaFon signed a similar deal that provided unlimited mobile web access to Moscow region only.

Google Launches HTML5 Rocks Web Site
In response to Apple’s HTML5 demos, Google has launched a website of its own that is far more useful.
Yes, it does include various presentations that were originally designed to run on Google Chrome. However, HTML5 Rocks also provide you with a tools and tutorials to code something for yourself.
So, who’s next? Mozilla, Opera or Microsoft?

Although Microsoft has yet to confirm IE9 Platform Preview 3 release, according to Softpedia, company might be releasing such build for developers and early adopters later today.

Socialize, Organize and Share with Pearltrees
Here is an interesting add-on for Firefox called “Pearltrees” that tries to replace old fashioned way to bookmark interesting sites.
According to extension authors, it allows you to organize, discover and stuff from the interwebs. As they say: “A pearl is like a bookmark. It holds anything you find interesting on the Web. Click it to open it, drag and drop it to move it… or put your pearl into the trash to delete it.”

Firefox 3.6.4 with Crash Protection Released
Today, Mozilla has released Firefox 3.6.4 web browser.
Fixing a total of 226 bugs, Firefox 3.6.4 also includes a nifty feature called “Crash Protection” (Windows, Linux only) that prevents plugins from crashing whole browser. According to Mozilla wiki, it does that by running Adobe Flash, Apple QuickTime and Microsoft Silverlight in a separate process called plugin-container.
