Will Apple and Opera Software be Sued?
Back in 2006 Google sued Microsoft for including its Live Search as a default search engine provider in Internet Explorer. Claiming that users should be able to “make choices” (even if that was few seconds job to change it). What I am more concerned is the fact that Microsoft is being sued all over when there is actually “a choice”.
But what about other companies? Well, let’s take a look to Apple and Opera Software this time. Continue Reading
New EU Complaint against Microsoft (IE this Time)
Remember the old days when EU filled complaint again Microsoft and it’s Windows Media Player being integrated to Windows? Well, they had to pay then $357 million fine, then $1.35 billion…
After Opera’s complain to the European Union back in the year 2007, looks like story continues.
As cNet says: European regulators notified Microsoft it believes the software giant is in violation of the region’s antitrust laws by bundling its Internet Explorer browser in Windows, the company said Friday.
Oh… Not again. If Microsoft removes Internet Explorer (which is free) from Windows at all, how will someone is going to download anything? For example: other web browser? Continue Reading
Browsers Pr0n/Private Mode Comics
Here are a few comics about the web browsers private mode, usually called “pr0n” mode.
Browsers are Hot Again
TechCrunch published an interesting article on the recent “Browsers are Hot Again!” panel. Representatives from Microsoft, Google, Mozilla and Opera were invited.
Here is an excerpt from the article on their vision:
An audience question asked each of the panelists to describe the essence of each browser. The responses were varied. Microsoft’s Hachamovitch said his team starts with looking at what the user wants and building from there (and pointed to IE 8’s impressive feature list). Krogh from Opera said they wanted to supply a standards compliant browser for literally any Internet connected device. Google’s Pichal said speed (of javascript) was their primary goal (Hachamovitch then dubbed him “Mr. Speed” in a later comment). Mozilla’s Shaver said Firefox was about “putting the web first,” and creating a standards-compliant browser in as many languages as possible to ensure that no one was left out of the Internet.
P.S. Internet Explorer 8 RC is going to be released within few weeks.
Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 Delayed
Mozilla has recently announced that due to many remaining bugs still unfixed, they are going to delay Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 release for a week.
Instead of releasing it on Jan 26th, it will be launched on Feb 2nd.
The upcoming beta release is supposed to be the last beta for Firefox 3.1 series.

Speed Up Safari
Here are few simple tips to increase Safari performance.
Disable Add-ons
Add-ons, such as PithHelmet or Saft, whilst extremely useful, can be the source of performance or stability issues. Fortunately, most utilities like these have an option to disable their functionality to allow you to troubleshoot. You could also choose to remove them from your computer altogether. To do this, follow the instructions on Apple’s Safari add-ons technote. Continue Reading
Extensions Post Removed
I have just removed recent published and “supposed to be funny” post on Opera’s Vision.
It was my mistake and I am sorry.
