In case you haven’t heard yet, Opera Software is planning to launch/reveal their latest project called Freedom (at least that’s what the URL suggests).
Although it’s too early to speculate, especially when there is so little information revealed so far, we can still check few things while waiting. Lets begin with the logo.

“We start our little story with the invention of the modern day computer.
Over the years, the computers grew in numbers, and the next natural step in the evolution was to connect them together. To share things … “
Also, the following tweet: “We are! We’ve put the internet on a USB stick so that you can always have a connection wherever you are!” (Thanks to Cqoicebordel for pointing that out).
Update: But as these little networks grew, some computers gained more power than the rest and called themselves servers…
Update 2: Today, millions of people are connected together in a great web …
Browsers vs. 6 Video Sharing Sites
Entertainment and informational video hosting services, such as YouTube, Blip.tv, etc. can play quite a huge role in today’s people life. As millions of visitors spend more and more time on those sites, it’s time to see, which web browser works and which doesn’t. For traffic stats, we are going to use Compete.com, 04/2009 data. As per my personal experience, actual numbers can be more than 10x times higher than reported. At least, that’s the case of FavBrowsr.com Continue Reading

Google.com to Work on Opera (Soon)
Few Opera 9.6.x users reported a nasty bug in Google.com. If search suggestion feature is enabled, apparently, “enter” button no longer works. The good news is however that a) you can turn this feature off and b) the fix is on its way.

Firefox Shows Some Love to Other Web Browsers
To make the story short: Before downloading Google Chrome, as usual, I have opened web browser and started to type “Google Chrome” in the address bar, predicting that it will lead me to the Google search results.
To my surprise, once I have typed that into Firefox 3 address bar and hit enter, it has opened Chrome home page instead.
Same with other web browser names: Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera queries lead to their home pages as well.
Kind of nice gesture from Mozilla, I guess.
