At 09:34 UTC still no FF5 at official download site
The link in the post still goes to FF4.
That are new features? :D Are they kidding or smth? It should be Firefox 4.1.01 or smth.. Mozilla go back to your roots – less marketing, more coding
Unfortunately marketing is what will get them the funding in the end so it needs to be done. You could also start spreading the word on Firefox yourself, especially to Internet Explorer users.
Sorry bro, but Mozilla have enough money now. They need something to differentiate from other browsers and not just copying Chrome. Because now they only playing catch-up. And yes, I know that Firefox have much more features than Chrome but nothing interesting for most end users. Mozilla start innovating or you will face Netscape fate
It is taking on features in Chrome, yes, but Chrome is nowhere near as customizable as Firefox. That is what differentiates Firefox. It is the most customizable browser out there. Oh, and it isn’t owned by a huge advertising firm eager to find out more about you so I am sure some will prefer to stick with Firefox. What Mozilla need to do is continue standard browser development and start marketing real good if they have enough money.
This new faster FF development pace shows that Mozilla thinks that “continue standard browser development” is not enough. We will see what future brings but now Firefox 5 is only stabilized Firefox 4 :(
Mozilla has been aways playing catching up (after the Netscape originated innovations), but before Google was paying marketing them for it, now they have Chrome…
And Opera have more features than firefox.

This link is where the download should be but it says Mozilla haven’t finshed ‘qualifying’ Firefox 5 yet. I remember you could download releases before they were pushed to mirrors but I guess they’ve plugged it up this time around. :(
“expect to see the Firefox 6 Beta within two weeks”
Cool. Now Mozilla is playing the numbers game
I know Mozilla were speeding up the release cycle but what’s with the 4, 5, 6, 7 version numbers?!
Mozilla have been losing their touch ever since copying Google with the About Firefox box and the numbers. Whatever happened to *.1 or *.5? Is Opera the only major vendor using them?
Opera is the oldest of the bunch and therefore the furthest ahead in terms of version numbering. Mozilla and Google had to think of something to catch up, right?
True. This kind of makes version numbers seem obsolete.
True. This kind of makes version numbers seem obsolete.
I’ve never agreed with launching new programs versions so quickly. I mean, download this version when there’s a beta for the next one? I guess that FF5 is that bad that FF6 is already under development or the differences between them are not so relevant to be major versions.
Edit: FF6 beta will be released in 2 weeks, but you got my point

Why are there still trolls like you around? Besides, FF isn’t slow unless it’s open for hours on end. #trollpatrol
And why should it be slow if it’s open for hours on end? I keep mine open all the time. I used to love FF, but not any more.
You can’t handle the truth.
I can, it’s just that I don’t have any problems with the nightlies, although they do become slow after time which is why I have Opera 11.5 installed as well.
