Download Opera 11.10 Beta
After quite a few snapshot builds, here comes the first beta of Opera 11.10 web browser.
What’s New?
Opera 11.10 Beta introduces an improved version of Speed Dial which now allows you to have an unlimited number of sites. Furthermore, a new algorithm zooms into the logo instead of displaying the whole web site.
As for other changes, Opera 11.10 will now download a Flash plug-in in the background automatically (in case site requires one), includes CSS3 multi-column layouts and gradients support, Web Open Font Format and WebP image protocol.

I like Opera but it has some issues with Facebook. Everytime i try to post a video from a site it only shows the link and not the actually mini video its suppose to display. I dont know if it has to do with the lack of html support or what. If anyone know how i can fix that then i will gladly go back to Opera.
copy paste the URL into facebook the press enter
Before pasting the link, you should before click on Link, and then attach.

New speed dial is awful.
No clue what they were thinking when came up with that idea… Thumbnails are so clunky and making them similar size like in v11 (110%) makes it even worse, columns are no longer horizontally centered, speed dial state 2 still shows configure button…
Just wow
Please have your feedback on the desktop team blog, not enough people are stressing this.
I actually like it. And it’s not like I stare at the speeddial the whole day.
I’m sorry. It might be my fault entirely. You see I made a mockup of something like that and posted it on their forums. Well I don’t mind as I’m primary a chrome user now.
Be careful when using this build!
Just downgraded to v11 and all my passwords are gone…
That probably because v11.10 use different format for wand.dat that doesn’t work in v11 (probably related with password synchronization).
As for Speed Dial, I hated it at first too, but now managed to set everything to look as before (except some things caused by bugs, like mentioned by you configure button). Try to manually set number of columns (opera:config#UserPrefs|NumberOfSpeedDialColumns), because automatic setting make too big margins and then use zoom (i have it set to 97% with 5 columns and it looks just like in previous versions).
As for “reload every” issue, you clearly didn’t try this out, because setting any value there restore old thumbnails look (full webpage).
“That probably because v11.10 use different format for wand.dat that doesn’t work in v11 (probably related with password synchronization).”
That is not an excuse. They engineered the damn app they should know better!
I lost them with the first barracuda snapshot. If they didn’t manage to solve that it’s a shame to call this a beta. Losing data it’s alpha/snapshot quality at best.
1. There is no data loss (passwords are still there, but older version can’t read it), password loss bug was introduced in snapshot and was fixed long before beta
2. Installing unstable version over stable version and then reverting to stable version (!) is a bad idea and if anything goes wrong – you’re the only one to blame
3. Read Opera’s FAQ before installing development version, especially those points in “What is a beta?” section:
“Should never be installed over or substituted for a final release
Data backup is highly recommended before use”
