Brings more Opera 12 features.
If you are up for a fresh stable build of Opera then today is your lucky day. Announced on Monday, Opera 17 brings some of the key missing features, including:
– Pinned tabs, pretty self-explanatory
– Startup options, which means that you can now choose between continuing where you left off, opening a specific set of page(s) during startup or starting with a start page.
– Custom search engines, a very welcome addition
And that’s it as far as big new features go, if you are a developer, feel free to check new APIs, such as: chrome.bookmarks, chrome.commands and chrome.webNavigation.
Also, expect to see first Opera 18 builds really soon as they continue to rebuild it from scratch.

you mean “first Opera 19 builds”, right ? because there is already Opera dev 18 which will be moved to the “Next” branch in a week or two.
I still can’t think of a reason why i should use this Opera 17..

It’s pretty fun to laugh at the misery of others. I enjoy it much more than laughing at my own miseries.
Themes are back but you have to enable it in opera:flags, also CTRL+ENTER works again to complete web addresses.
Compared to what other browser?
I assume, we will have the full functionaliy of Opera 12 in Opera 21 (Hopefully!)
Opera needs serious Opera-tion in the Opera-ting table if it wants to stay alive! Hahahahahaha
