Firefox 3.5 Receives an IRC Client
Latest Firefox 3.5 nightly releases now include Mibbit, a web IRC client. Once irc:// link is opened, user will be redirected to Mibbit for further steps.
In order to make it work, you will have to select Mibbit from Applications settings page in the Options menu.

opera always ahead of its time

Yeah, Opera had IRC on board for years already… Smart move fy Firefox, BTW.
I think Opera should do the same thing with IRC and RSS readers as they did with e-mail: add web-based alternatives.
This is in no way “inclusion” of a client… it’s just another service added to the list of already existing web services/apps. You guys are really starting to grasp for straws when comparing Firefox and Opera…
Get over Fx, Opera is way better and way ahead of Fx. Best thing is most every firefox user doesn’t even know that the official abbreviation for firefox is Fx not FF.
FireFerret is bloated and needs bloated add-ons to even vaguely compete. Personally the security concerns of so many add-ons make me prefer almost any browser to Fx these days.
