Firefox 4 Pushed Back to 2011
It looks like Firefox 4 won’t see the daylight this year, as Mozilla has pushed its release back into early 2011, company representative announced yesterday.
As discussed in today’s Firefox delivery meeting, release candidate builds are now scheduled to ship in early 2011, with the final GA release shortly after
According to Firefox 4 schedule (which may change at any time), Beta 7 release is targeted for early November and is followed by 3 more Betas.
Better safe than sorry.

:)..firefox will lose terrain a lot despite google chrome…who is upgrading almost every week with important updates!the move from firefox to google its massive..for now..think about..till final firefox 4
Not good.
Instead of security updates, maybe they should focus on the core.
Move the security people to core.
I want to see Firefox 5 by 2011 dammit.
That’s surprising… not.
I really don’t know about why they doing this much testing ….. do they had bad experience before .. or buggy releases before …..
Seriously? 2011 now? This is taking far too long in my ever so humble opinion. I don’t want to wait any longer.
LOL.
FF has enormous pile of addons better make it compatible i guess, frankly that will punish FF to death, Chrome 10 is just around the corner…
I can’t imagine why EVERY release of Firefox got a (or more) new dates for the release? Why are the “managers” so bad in creating a realistic shedule for their releases?
Usually, people over-estimate on what they can do within 1 year and under-estimate when it comes to a 10 year period :-)
But hey, at least they give all the schedules, unlike other browser makers.
does it makes really a difference if a browser is released this month or next month? Doesn’t the web changes a bit slowlier than everybody on this page thinks? I mean facebook didn’t support any longer IE6 since this summer! there are already IE7 and 8 and IE9 is in development.
Everybody would be OK if surfing with FF 2.0 or Opera 9. Nobody will die by this…
If they keep dragging their feet a lot of people will dump Firefox for IE9.
Don’t you dare complement anything Micro$oft makes! I wouldn’t touch any of it with the longest barge pole in existace if it was possible (CURSE YOU MINISTRY OF EDUCATION FOR YOUR CONTRACTS WITH MICRO$OFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Angry fat guy
Btw, calling Microsoft M$ was funny 4 years ago
Which idiot uses the M$ moniker?
I like microsoft no I love it. Bill is a great person overall, which other billionaire has spent that much money on charity?
People really need to let things go. No company. NO COMPANY is perfect. They all make mistakes. I’m sure there is at least one thing in your life you regret. What do you friends and family do though? Do they condemn you for the rest of your life or are they bigger than that forgive and simply move on.
I would rather threat a company that is too successful than vice versa.
What about Steve? :-) He’s such an amazing and passionate guy.
Developers, developers, developers!
Steve. Steve. Hmmmm.
He is good. I like how he turned his life around. He is also passionate. (Bet hes real mother and father regret ever giving him up.)
But the guy has that old turtle neck style since eons.
I liked it when it was the sophisticated Steve with the dress suit and smexy hairstyle. No he is bold.

We’ll you could say developers are steves charity of choice.
Do you love Microsoft because they deliberately sabotage open technologies, because they force OEMs to only sell with Windows, or because they pay other companies to lawsuit for themvelves?
By the way, no company is perfect, it’s true. Microsoft is almost perfect at making money. They were just so bad at making software, they had to come up with other strategies to make money. But I admit they’re getting better.
Ok. I’m going to have a wild crack so please bear with me.
Do you use Intel? (They did the same thing)
Are you a supporter of the iLife ecosystem? (Open source which is updated and has a nice close source moniker on it)
Do you believe Linux is coded for free?
I admit Microsoft hasn’t been the smartest company. What they are is successful. Same with Apple.
Ballmer might be a dick but he is one crazy mf with whom is very aggressive towards product launches that will make Microsoft successful.
Everything in this world is controlled. What you think may be your ally is infact your enemy. (You know the one underneath your bed. The one who whistles that gentle tone in your ear promising everything going to be alright, but instead grabs you by the ball’s and rips you a new one.) <Yes please disregard.
You know what. I do not know what I just said.
That was hilarious.
Think, it’s the right decision.
I think it is better than for example the release schedule of Ubuntu (always half a year what often means very buggy and not yet finished or even stable releases)
I wanna see the software when it is stable and not planned to be stable.
