Flock Is Dead
Flock, the social web browser that was acquired by Zynga back in January, 2011, is now shutting down.
April 26th, 2011 is the day when Flock support will be discontinued and company already suggests users to download an alternative web browser, such as: Firefox or Google Chrome.
Support for Flock browsers will be discontinued as of April 26th, 2011. We would like to thank our loyal users around the world for their support, and we encourage the Flock community to migrate in the coming weeks to one of the recommended web browsers listed below.
Why is Flock shutting down?
According to the official explanation, the team behind Flock is now working on the social games instead. Here is an excerpt from their FAQ section:
The Flock team joined Zynga in January, 2011 and is now working to assist Zynga in achieving their goal of building the most fun, social games available to anyone, anytime — on any platform.

Serves them right.
Anyway, what happened to the favicon? It’s now something I can’t quite see… Is that supposed to be a black box with something written on it?
Serves them right? Elaborate!
I blame this

Tried adding favicon url, favicon as png, smaller icons, etc. still same. So I have removed logo, should be okay now after cache refresh.
same thing going to happen with maxthon i give it another year :-(
What? Why?
I tried Flock for the first time a while ago and the bookmarks manager was simply atrocious. Couldn’t work with it at all. I checked the Flock blog on a regular basis as well and it simply wasn’t being updated ever since that blog post about Flock now belonging to Zynga. It didn’t seem to go anywhere.
:/
At least we haven’t lost any layout / js engine on this.
Sure.
I am sure the idea behind taking over Flock was getting the technology and not the browser itself.
RockMelt is around the corner to fill the gap that Flock left behind.
No problem, I’ve never used it.
yay.. flock joined zygna to creat more crappy games that we can all play on facebook while our personal information is being stolen.
