Google Chrome 6 Beta Improves Performance, Again
Yesterday, Google has released the Beta version of Chrome 6 web browser that not only increases JavaScript performance but also brings an AutoFill feature.
According to the test results, Google Chrome 6 has ~15% edge over Chrome 5 in SunSpider and V8 JavaScript benchmarks.
As for AutoFill feature, NeoWin argues, whether it’s a good idea for Google to allow storing sensitive information, such as: credit card details.

Finally! A major update from Google Chrome. Now, Chrome nerds users will be able to say their browser hasn’t stood still for 2 years.
Although they do need to fix that awful bug where their title bar doesn’t respect system settings.
And they need to fix their lack of detection when the taskbar is on top, rather than on bottom.
A loads more, but it’s Google, we can’t expect much.
Are you saying that Chrome is standing still? It’s kicking performance ass, and getting cool new stuff all the time.
Although Chrome 6 hasn’t seen a final release yet, how does it compare to Opera and Safari in terms of performance? Those three have been in a close race for a while now.
More like just comparing Chrome 6 to Opera 10.6x.
Safari has not been close in the race for quite a while. Even IE9 Preview 4 has faster Sunspider benchmark than Safari 5.
Then I apologise for being misinformed. Damn Computerworld!
That’s not so much about Safari being out of the game, it’s more about IE also being in it all of a sudden. Safari 5’s sunspider marks are pretty close to Chrome and Opera, especially on Macs where it may outdo both of them.
Yawn, hasn’t Opera has Autofill since like V3 or something?
It’s been in there as long as I can remember…
Chrome gets inspired by Opera in terms of features and Firefox gets inspired by Opera when it comes to the user interface. That’s just how it works.
There’s no shame in copying stuff. Google are being very open about it.
