Google Chrome Has 120 Million Users

Google Chrome Has 120 Million UsersBack in December, Google has announced that Google Chrome has more than 120 million active users, which is good.

However, during the Q1 2011 earnings call, company has stated that Google Chrome sees about 30% growth every quarter and now has 120 million active users.

Confused yet? Turns out, 120 million active users milestone that was hit in December was not using DAU (Daily Active Users) metric. Instead, it relied on more “generic” active users calculations.

Makes you wonder what parameters do other web browser companies use to count their users…

Well, we can be sure that if Google is understating their userbase NOW, then Mozilla has been understating theirs for 5 years. Of course, as with everything, Opera has been doing it for 10.

Opera has 150m users, counted from updater hits. So it’s people actually using it, rather than Mozilla or Microsoft’s lane download count….

Mozilla’s download count is in the billions… What are you talking about? Nobody claims Firefox users are in the billions…
