Google Goes Mental: Increases Chrome Rewards To $20,000

If previous cash rewards were not enough to encourage you to start sniffing the code, then we have some good news.

Having invested over $460,000 already, the search giant will increase rewards by a nice margin and will now pay hackers up to $20,000 for their exploits.

According to the announcement, new rules are as follows:

– $20,000 for qualifying vulnerabilities
– $10,000 for SQL injection and equivalent vulnerabilities
– Up to $3,133.7 for many types of XSS, XSRF, and other high-impact flaws

So, grab a cup of coffee and get to work!

[Thanks, Blake]

The “high impact” reward seems strange – ending in an odd number and a .7 as well. Google are being just a tad too precise.

31337 is a play on Leet-speak for ELEET, which is a play on ELITE

Now let’s see Google do a reward scheme for Android – loads of vulnerabilities have cropped up over the past 12 months and would only make sense to do one.
