Internet Explorer 10: The King Of The Web Security
When it comes to the socially engineered malware, it looks like Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is the only web browser that manages to fight it well.
According to the latest study by NSS Labs, IE10 running on the Windows 8 protected test systems against 99.1% of all the malicious web pages, followed by Google’s Chrome 70.4% mark.
However, when it came to Firefox and Safari, the block rates were incredibly low, 4.2% and 4.3% respectively.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), Opera was not tested.

Opera should have results similar to Firefox and Safari, as it too use downloadable blacklists. Both Chrome and IE use query servers for blacklisting.
Does that make it more responsive to block the bad stuff more quickly? A more up-to-date list of baddies I assume.
Its plainly cheaper. As in cheap-as-free.
And browser can block download **during** downloading, so it should not slow down any download.
Sure about that? I ever thought Opera uses also server query with phishtank and netcraft.
For files or for urls?
Whenever a browser study leaves out Opera, I see it with less credibility.

I believe – correct me if I’m wrong – that is about one vulnerability that has been corrected since. If I’m correct, that should be listed against all teh holes of Chrome and IE that have been discovered.
For a self-proclaimed fan of Opera, you do remarkably well at bashing Opera.

Nah. They just focus on specific tests, where others suck. And with good reason. When your test show that everything is ok, then you do disfavor everybody.
Security is process where you have to check for weaknesses.

This is how media manipulates the truth, The day I have to use IE is the last day of surfing net for me.
Yes… Along with the extremely ugly Font Rendering on IE10… MS decided this is the best way to render fonts and you can’t do anything that you can on Win7/IE9 to fix the problem.
Compatibility Mode, Disable Hardware Acceleration, Adjust or Disable Cleartype – Nothing works anymore. This is the fixed font rendering, adapt or… save your eyes.
MS implemented on IE10 Desktop Browser the same font rendering as on Metro UI and Apps. In order to look fine on all monitors, you have to be using specific fonts, specific sizes ( large ones ) and specific background/colours on your website. The well-known MS, “do it only as we think is the best”.
