Opera 11.50 Release Candidate Now Available

By | June 24, 2011

Opera 11.50 Release Candidate Now AvailableOpera 11.50 is just about ready to replace Opera 11.11 as the former is now in the release candidate stage. Available for download for Windows, Mac, or Linux from the Opera Next page, one can download it now without overwriting their current, stable Opera installation as Opera Next installs itself in a separate directory.

As previously reported, Opera 11.50 will be launching with a sleeker look, ditching brightly colored menu and status bar icons for a more refined look boasting more subtle tones. New aesthetics are not the only change that Opera 11.50 will bring along, though, as the Speed Dial page has been improved along with increased support for modern web technologies such as CSS3 and HTML5 and easy plug in installation.

    RC2 is out already.

The new skin is really great… no more blue buttons and a seemingly smaller and lighter statusbar.
I’m not sure about the no-border buttons in the addressbar as I have them at 40% scale and without borders they might get more difficult to hit… but the home-button is gone and this compensates everything :)

I hope for a release on monday!

I seems to not fully understand the difference between Download Opera Next version and Download the Swordfish Release Candidate, can anybody tell me full difference ?

I really hope tomorrow we do not get 10.50 and after 1 weeks a quick bug fix release….. Please Opera take your time …..

They are rushing to fast and that makes mistakes. New O menu looks horrible, just replace Menu with Opera from 11.11 but that’s to hard i guess and too easy.

So they are rushing too fast because you don’t like the new O menu? Wow. If that’s the worst problem you can come up with, it seems that it’s more than ready for release!
