Opera: Enable New Google Image Search Interface
If for one reason or another Opera displays you old, AJAX free image search interface in Google, then here is how to fix that:
Right Click > Edit Site Preferences
Click on the “Network” tab
Browser identification: Identify as Firefox
Click OK and refresh page.
Job done.

well, it is a solution, but not a very good one, as it inflates opera’s market share. does it work well in Opera? then why blocking it? Browser sniffing is sooo 2004
This is Google’s failt not Opera’a??
Yep.
The new search interface is awful. Why change to that on purpose?
Why? No more clicking for the next pages, instant results.
I still prefer Bing though.

You still have to click twice to see the picture in full size.
Pretty lame that Google doesn’t support Opera 100%!
if you want to download images as quick as possible, the new feature is not handy at all. I use opera’s Google Images Redirect extension to get the image in one click.

Does it work? The recent reviewers said it does not.
Extension called Google Images Direct works for sure – I’m using Opera 11.50.
