Firefox 8 To Use IE9 Like User Protection
It looks like Mozilla is implementing more and more features from its competitors.
Just like in Internet Explorer 9, starting with Firefox 8, Mozilla will automatically block web browser add-ons that are not yet approved by the user.
In case other software installs an add-on, Firefox 8 will disable it and notify the user.
In the world where a plenty of companies inject their add-ons into Firefox, such as: Skype, anti-virus software, etc. it’s a very welcomed step nonetheless.
“There Is No Free Lunch” – Mozilla
Mozilla’s chairwoman Mitchell Baker responded to criticism regarding the rapid release cycle in a recent blog post.
She started by acknowledging the problem and ensured that while the current rapid release cycle is far from perfect, Mozilla is working hard to make it more useful for the majority of its userbase.
However, due to the rapidly changing nature of the Internet, Baker believes that it is necessary for the browser to follow this breakneck pace.

Maxthon 3.1.6.1000 Is Out!
The newest version of Maxthon has been released! The latest version available via the auto updater is 3.1.5.1000, however. Find below some of the new features and improvements that come with this update:

Mozilla Won’t Ditch Firefox Version Numbers After All
Mozilla will not get rid of the version number present in Firefox’s “About” box after all, putting an end to a rather heated debate that first surfaced a few weeks ago.
There are no plans to adjust the version number. It will remain in its current place in the About window, and we are going to continue with the current numbering scheme. – Alex Faaborg, a principal designer at Mozilla
In another message in the mozilla.dev.usability discussion list, Faaborg blamed “miscommunication inside of the user experience team” for the commotion about the departing version number.

F1 Online: The Game
You just lost it.
Codemasters, a British game developer, has announced an upcoming Formula 1 title that is set to be playable in a web browser.
According to the press release, a free-to-play game will use the Unity game engine and feature some of the well know tracks, including: Monaco and Silverstone.

Coming Soon: New Internet Explorer 10 Features
As you might know, Microsoft is planning a major conference in the upcoming month, where it will share new and exciting things about its products, including Windows 8, which is rumored to receive a Beta release.
While some might expect Internet Explorer 10 announcements as well, it was not officially confirmed, up until now.
According to the comment on IEBlog, Microsoft is set to reveal more IE10 features on September 13th, at the //BUILD/ Windows conference.
Download Opera 11.51 RC
Even though the Opera team is working heavily on the upcoming Opera 12 release, it does not mean that previous version users were forgotten.
In fact, Opera 11.51 Release Candidate 1 is already published on the Opera servers and can be downloaded from the following page.
While it does not offer any new features or drastic performance improvements, Opera 11.50 users will certainly welcome various stability fixes, improving their browsing experience for sure.
Google Chrome Receives New Tab Page, Bookmark Manager
Available in the latest Dev builds.
With all the upcoming changes, it looks like Google Chrome users will soon enjoy a new tab page, borrowing elements from Opera and Maxthon web browsers.
As you can see from the screenshots below, updated Tab Page groups data into the following categories: Most Visited, Apps, Bookmarks and Recently Closed.
