Microsoft Caught Cheating in the Sunspider Benchmark
Oh boy, here we go again.
If rumors are proved to be true, then Internet Explorer 9 has got some dirty tricks up its sleeve and they were just debunked.

Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview 7 Released
Screams for more performance.
Although it’s been a mere three weeks since the last IE9 Platform Preview release, Microsoft has recently released a yet another build that is Platform Preview 7.
According to the IE Team, since the release of Internet Explorer 9 Beta, it has already generated more than 13 million downloads and proved to be a huge success.
As far as this release goes, Platform Preview 7 continues its bug fixing marathon and real world performance improvements. Therefore, SunSpider benchmark results have improved as well.

Internet Explorer is Safer than Google Chrome and Firefox
Or so it seems.
According to the “Dirty Dozen” applications list (which is basically a collection/report of the most discovered software flaws that require security updates), when it comes to vulnerabilities, Google Chrome is the no. 1 application to get.
Furthermore, same report claims that Internet Explorer has far less security flaws than Safari or Firefox web browsers.

Skyfire to Kill Windows Mobile and Symbian Products
With the decreasing popularity of Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms, Skyfire has decided to do some changes for its own eco system.
Starting from December 31, 2010, Skyfire will stop supporting its 1.0 browser for both Windows Mobile and Symbian devices.
What does that mean?
Flash and Silverlight is no more, as its proxy servers will be shut down.

Private Browsing Mode, Tabbed Browsing for Windows Phone 7 IE
Well, that did not take long.
Yesterday, a new app called Browser+ ($0.99) was included into the Windows Phone marketplace.
Basically, it’s a modified Internet Explorer Mobile shell with the enhanced functionality:
Tabbed browsing
Private (incognito) mode
On the downside, it does not yet support landscape mode.

Here comes the seventh beta release of Firefox 4 web browser.
Last month, Mozilla has announced its plans to delay Firefox 4 Final release and push it back to the next year that is 2011.
Well, today they have reached a yet another milestone as company has announced the availability of Firefox 4 Beta 7.
Now here is the best part: it fixes a total of 2439 bugs (imagine that!) and includes JägerMonkey just-in-time JavaScript compiler.
