Opera Software Q2 2010 Financial Results
Today, Opera Software has reported Q2 2010 financial results. As you will see, results are mixed up, with total revenues down 2% (Q on Q) and 4% when comparing 1H vs 2H. On the other hand, desktop browser revenue has increased by 20-30%.
Firefox 4 Beta 4 Hits the Streets
By fixing a total of 623 bugs, Mozilla has just released another beta of long awaited, Firefox 4 web browser.
The following release includes few changes and improvements, among those are: Firefox Sync, Firefox Overview, HTML5 “buffered” video property support and experimental API to improve JavaScript animations.

Steam Software Survey
It looks like Steam survey now also tracks software usage. While it’s just a minority of all Internet users (and all of them are gamers), you can still gather some interesting numbers.
Personally, I was curious about Microsoft Silverlight adoption. Turns out, 1 out of 2 people has actually Silverlight installed. Adobe Flash Player on the other hand dominates the market.

Firefox 4 Beta 4 to Include Sync, Hardware Acceleration
It looks like the upcoming Firefox 4 Beta 4 release is set to include Firefox Sync; a feature that allows users to synchronize bookmarks, tabs, history, preferences, etc. among Firefox desktop and mobile platforms.
Furthermore, Beta 4 will have hardware acceleration enabled by default on Windows machines.
If everything goes as expected, we shall see the availability of Firefox 4 Beta 4 next Monday (August 23rd).

Opera 10.70 Expands Sync Capabilities
The latest weekly build of Opera 10.70 web browser (please note: this is not the final version) now includes ability to synchronize content blocker settings.
With Opera Link technology, users can use same speed dials, bookmarks, personal bar settings*, search engines, notes* and history* across different computers or even mobile phones.
