Poll: Weekly Browsers Recap
I’d like to hear your opinions about weekly browsers recap. Here’s what I think: instead of linking to all the news articles, I would cover them in this blog.
Pros: wouldn’t have to wait whole week to read about something, what had happened 5 days ago or so.
Cons: ?

My suggestion is you create a new post category for link-only news, if you can’t write something yourself. It may need some smart theme changes to accommodate the new category, but I think it’s a nice thing to have.
Something like a “newsflow” in a column on the right might be nice, with just a short summary for “minor” news. In other words a “Recent News” box that looks like the “Recent Comments” box.
Another solution is to have it sort of like it is now, except the weekly box is updated and bumped to the top as the links come in and its layout might change depending on how many lines there are.
Two “mock-ups”:
Early in the week, when there’s little content.
The “No Comments” and “Post a comment” should be shortened in the above and probably merged.
Later at the end of the week.
I don’t think this solution would require any sort of WP extensions either, would it?
You could also have as above in the flow on the frontpage and when someone goes to the article specific page they would see short summaries or your personal thoughts for each article.
well, i have to say that i always wait till the end of the week to see what did i miss during the weekend.
this browser recap i find wery helpfull and needed. browser related news are constantly burried under tons of apple coverage around the globe, and while i own iphone, i couldnt care less about what new refresh macbook received.
so, please, do not remove this weekly recap, i would surely miss it.
i like the ‘newsflow’ thing also, that would free you from editing posts, while still contributing much to us.
so, my vote is ‘do not replace’. browser news are not needed on zero hour, so i can wait to see all of them, instead of few ‘hot’ ones (where comes into discussion, that for me hot is something else than for Mr A or B)
i agree with nobody.browser recap is great.
Thanks for your feedback!
Still thinking :-)
I propose you recruit someone to help you.
Someone whom is bias neutral.
No not that troll Nick Farrel. This dude
Can’t stand that c*nt.
Also you can make a presumption based on the statistics of your average user.

Are you affiliated with browser-watch in any way?
Ooh Ooh.
Can you make the commenting system better?
Maybe move to wordpress?
This is WordPress, what do you mean?
:D
Sorry I usually look at the footer for something along the lines of “wordpress”
Maybe a plugin to include rich text editing. Like links, images. (Why cannot post images here?)
Dont want to do this all the time to post a link
Thank you.
Would this work?
Only one I could find that comes remotely close.
Hell no, linking images is enough. If you want to see images then install an extension or save a bookmarklet that embeds them for you.
As for WYSIWYG edititng, TinyMCEComments should solve the problem nicely. While you’re at it, it could be nice to have the ability to edit one’s comments, preferably not once someone has written an answer though.
Hell yes. Maybe the layout needs to change. I admit with the current layout as limited as it is, will pose a problem.
And I would like a reply button under each comment. It seems I can only reply to a parent comment. Why can’t I reply to a reply.
And we really need editing
You can, but not to a reply of a reply of a reply of a reply :-)
Foo, TinyMCE is now installed.
@Vygantas
Cool :-)
Hmm,
What if I would do this:
Week in Browsers, them link to all FavBrowser articles (so you wouldn’t miss anything) + bonus links from other sites, just like now.
Yes why not.
What no article explaining the change.
Vygantas, you are such a slacker.
So the way to do links is to first write out the word, higlight it then hit the link icon.
A bit stupid, but meh.
Test:
Google
Haha, allright, will do that :-)
I see. I see. Icy.
Have you seen an easier way to do it?
Note that you can also select a link, or a part of it, in most browsers and copy+paste it and it will preserve the linking for you.
Same thing with other formating
